Welcome to the official page of Safer Internet Day Nigeria hosted by www.icldng.org.
Safer Internet Day 2018 will take place on Tuesday 6th February with the theme:
Create, Connect and Share Respect:
A better internet starts with you
Coordinated in Nigeria by the International Centre for Leadership Development Nigeria Safer Internet Centre the celebration sees hundreds of organisations get involved to help promote the safe, responsible and positive use of digital technology for children and young people. Safer Internet Day gained official recognition in Nigeria late 2014, with an approval from the Insafe / INHOPE European Schoolnet to work together to build a better internet for youth.
Globally, Safer Internet Day is celebrated in over a hundred countries, coordinated by the joint Insafe/INHOPE network, with the support of the European Commission, and national Safer Internet Centres across Europe.
The day offers the opportunity to highlight positive uses of technology and to explore the role we all play in helping to create a better and safer online community. It calls upon young people, parents, carers, teachers, social workers, law enforcement, companies, policymakers, and wider, to join together in helping to create a better internet. Get involved to play your part!
Our goal is to make each Safer Internet Day Nigeria (SID NIG) a highly collaborative project that promotes the activities of internet users of all ages, so as to make both the internet and the world a better place through the help of the internet.
Please join us in celebrating Safer Internet Day, as we strive to make the internet and the world a better place using the internet and connected technology!
